About this business

We were once two brothers who loved family, sports, and adventure. But as we got older, we never thought we would have our own business. We played soccer, ran track, and ski raced when we were kids, and we add gymnastics and martial arts to the mix when we hit our twenties. We are fiercely competitive and best friends. But it isn't enough that we share general interests; we must work out together to stay in shape. We were bored with the monotony of treadmill running and rotating between machines at 24 Hour Fitness. While searching for diverse ways to exercise regularly, we arrived at CrossFit. CrossFit provided us with a fun and competitive way to improve our athleticism. The CrossFit workouts forced us to focus on movement instead of muscle, which was a novel concept. We were surprised how fit we could get in a short time. Our workouts were varied and included yoga and Olympic lifting. It was social, competitive, and exciting. We looked forward to exercising again. Functional Athletics Inc. is our group exercise and private coaching business. Our clients work with us to develop a training plan that fits their individual needs. Their training includes small-group exercise classes designed especially for them. Our functional fitness may not be for everyone. We use the best tool available, the indoor rower, and supplement it with high-energy workouts, weightlifting, and yoga. Our 4,000 sq. ft. studio is conveniently located near the University and downtown. Our "rigs" have plenty of space to do chin-ups or muscle-ups. We also have room for push-ups and jump ropes. And, of course, lots of rowers. A good training session combines hands-on instruction, great music, and friendly competition.
