BC Legal Aid is complicated. Many people can't afford to pay for it. Our lawyers can handle any legal matter. Legal Aid BC, a Crown Corporation in British Columbia, provides legal assistance. The 1979 Legal Services Society Act created LABC to provide legal advice and information. We cater to those who can't easily access the justice process. All British Columbians can access some of our services. The provincial government funds us, with additional support from the Notary Foundation of BC, and the Law Foundation of BC. We are not influenced by the government and are accountable to the people. We have a range of services that help individuals solve their legal problems. We determine the services we offer according to the LSS Act. You can access our services at any legal aid location in the province. Legal Aid BC is committed to reconciliation and increasing Indigenous access to justice services. In the Reconciliation Action Plan, we outline our progress goals. Our justice sector partners should be involved in our work so they can provide information to us and make it easier for those most at risk to get it. We are guided by our vision, mission, and core values. These values reflect our commitment to an integrated model of legal aid. We believe in providing quality legal services to clients so that justice is accessible for all. We strive to provide the best legal services and improve access to justice.
