Canvas Method

Canvas Method is a Vancouver-based drawing and painting atelier for representational art located in Canada. We offer a unique structure that promotes and supports our artists’ development and art practice. We aim to produce world-class artists capable of making drawings and paintings with a contemporary aesthetic and technical proficiency. We welcome beginners and advanced students alike, and you may work at your speed using our instructor’s guidance in a class setting. He will give technical support and creative advice while working from a live model and brightly lit reference photos, plaster casts, master copies, and various drawing tools. Our curriculum involves learning how to draw and paint from both photos and masterworks. The school gives students still life objects and master prints for study, as well as professional models for drawing and painting. Our classes also include lectures and demonstrations that are ongoing, allowing for a comprehensive exploration of the material. Artists frequently find it difficult to improve their drawing and painting skills while producing enough work and feeling stuck or isolated in their development. Our positive, nurturing environment will help you push your artistic abilities beyond what you previously thought possible and offer new ideas about how to make art and realistically how to express yourself in a poetic way.
