My name is Art Godoy, and I keep it real. I've been in this sector since 1985. My tattoo parlor, Funhouse Tattoo, has been a part of the Vancouver skyline since 1998. I wanted to fill a hole in the tattooing business that no other shop could touch. Most of our artwork is picked up by other businesses. My twin and I have a lengthy tattoo history, and we are credited with blending skateboarding and tattooing into one lifestyle. I have 5 international patents and wrote an industry book that over 60 publishers in 6 languages distributed across the world. I've seen time in Guiness primetime, Miami Ink, LA Ink, You Asked For It, Larry King Live, Pro Sieben (German TV), and Cover Up, to name a few. Since we care about our reputation, we won't hire sub-par artists. That critical factor is what maintains Funhouse’s status today.
Funhouse Tattoo prides itself on upholding our reputation and being a fair employer. We are dedicated to the highest health and safety standards in our establishment. Our artists are all trained in blood-borne pathogens. That artistic freedom is going against the trend of a sales-driven industry where every tattoo shop wants to be a TV show. We still believe tattooing to be a service job, where learning outweighs furniture. Our greatest asset will always be our client.
