Harbour Light Detox

Located in the downtown eastside for over 65 years and long enough to witness miracles and new beginnings, Harbour Light is a landmark of hope for this struggling community. Our team consists of approximately 200 passionate professionals who want to help the downtown eastside. Our team is diverse and has different professional and personal backgrounds, but we are all bound together by our faith in The Salvation Army and Harbour Light. Our alumni represent approximately 35% of our employees, from the front line to senior management. Our alumni can share their own struggles with our clients and support their recovery and housing journey. Our clients will find a safe and compassionate environment when they enter the doors of Harbour Light Detox. We believe in transforming our clients spiritually, physically, and emotionally during their stay. Our program provides clients with medical support during acute withdrawal management from substances. We serve adults over 19 who predominantly use drugs. Our detox program includes support and group counseling. It also incorporates alternative healing methods such as acupuncture and music therapy. The facility also has 12-step meetings and other programs in the house. Harbour Light Detox is a community-based program that partners with Vancouver Coastal Health (Harbour Light, n.d.).
