SFU Continuing Studies has 30 courses and over 300 programs that you can take for personal or professional development. Flexible course delivery is provided by our Vancouver and Surrey campuses as well as online. Learners can earn university or professional development credits. Our faculty includes professionals that are leaders in their fields. All courses are eligible for SFU Professional Development hours. SFU Continuing Studies is part of Simon Fraser University's Lifelong Learning. Lifelong Learning. The Lifelong Learning department is a unit that provides flexible learning opportunities to support personal and professional development. You can earn credit in hundreds of courses and choose from more than two-dozen programs that will help you achieve your career objectives, develop meaningful relationships, and create healthy, sustainable communities. Classes are offered to accommodate your busy schedule. Many classes are available through online learning, and others are available on weekends at the Surrey and Vancouver campuses. SFU Continuing Studies has served over 100,000 students, including those who are just starting and professionals. Our classes have been available since 1971. Our first courses were offered in the Liberal Arts and 55+ programs in 1974. The Interpretation and Translation program was introduced in 1985. Our City Program, which teaches about relevant urban issues, was created in 1993. The Writer's Studio was established in 2001 to make writing more accessible to emerging writers.
