Sarah has been a faculty member at the Academy for Dog Trainers since 2009, teaching in a two-year program on animal behaviour and training. She also serves on the board of directors for West Coast Cocker Rescue, a rescue organization for Cocker Spaniels acquired from high-kill shelters in British Columbia or Los Angeles. She has a unique skill set as a dog trainer, turning distressed dogs into adoptable pets. She also continues her education through webinars, seminars, and workshops, such as those dealing with fearful dogs and separation anxiety, among other topics for dog owners. She lives in Vancouver with her partner and Bear, their nine-year-old Pekingese/Pekingese mix, who has shown them how animals can bring happiness to any family. Yaletown Dog Training was the city's first company to be accredited by BCSPCA AnimalKind and offers methods that are as gentle as they are effective. No dog issue is too challenging for us to address, as our goal is your dog's happiness. We never use force and always use positive reinforcement. We will show you how to teach your dog what you like and how to do it. For example, we can help both you and your dog overcome any fear of having their nails trimmed.
