Oak Bay Preschool

Welcome to Oak Bay Preschool! Our oceanside community of Oak Bay residents has participated in the preschool for over 45 years. The preschool offers a safe and caring environment for children and families. You get to share in your child's first school experience. Throughout the month, you and others can attend classes with your children and contribute a job to the school. Our community events in and around the school keep families coming back year after year. Reggio Emilia's pedagogical approach to learning, which values curiosity and the natural world, inspires our program. The natural world, arts, and movement, and open-ended exploration are just a few of the many ways we help kids grow and learn. Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics all come into play here. The children work with a variety of age-appropriate play materials. In the learning process, we have fun and develop new skills. Each child is a valued, competent, and powerful individual, and we are delighted to be able to come together and share the joy and wonder of early childhood.

Oak Bay Preschool thrives on an incredibly cooperative and supportive environment. Parents and students have praised Kindergarten teacher Keira and Melanie because of their attentiveness, creativity, and passion for children’s development. Both teachers foster empathy and respect among students, which is reflected in the positive learning experiences the children report. The school programs enable kids to learn through play both indoors and outdoors. Parents see individual development in their children and are encouraged to take part in community events where they can engage with other families in the school. The overall program helps the pupils develop interests within an inclusive family environment which gets the recommendations on social media.
