Sobering Centre

The Sobering Centre in Victoria follows the Island Health guidelines. Island Health serves more than 860,000 residents in Vancouver Island and other islands near Powell River. More than 27,000 employees and over 2,900 physicians in leadership and partnership with the health system. In addition, they have over 1,000 active volunteers. Some are temporary placements, and others are annual placements. There are several foundations that support health in British Columbia, and they have chosen Island Health to deliver their programs. Island Health provides various types of services to residents, patients, and clients. They are available in a grid view by default and can be accessed from any device. This content can be viewed in a grid view (default) or as a text-based table. Island Health understands that systemic racism must be understood to address health inequalities. Colonial generational attitudes and beliefs that created Indian Hospitals and Reserves, Day Schools, and Residential Schools are still there.
