MetroWorks was established in 1977 to help people overcome difficulties. We have assisted thousands of people in Nova Scotia throughout our history. By the time MetroWorks started, the regional economy was in decline, and the public sector was rapidly taking over. In this case, the majority of significant community establishments were government-funded or licensed, which caused a dependency on public money. The population was mostly unemployed, and there were numerous social issues in the community. We were a small business at the time, which is why Options Work Activity Program was founded. We have grown to be a major player in Nova Scotia's social and economic scenario. As a non-profit organization, we provide our time and resources back to the community. Our primary goal is to assist individuals with disabilities in finding employment and developing essential skills. This page describes how we realize these aspirations using our social enterprises.
