emoSherwood Park Preschool’s philosophy and values are embedded in the content and philosophy we teach, and these help our children learn. We use an emerging philosophy of learning to make learning opportunities meaningful, relevant, and necessary for children’s learning experiences and to our perception of the curriculum. This philosophy focuses on our potential to react to the needs of the children. Waterloo's certified experts in child development, teacher educators and researchers, social and cultural historians, peace and social justice proponents, and curriculum developers believe healthy child development is stimulated in children by responding to their questions and interests. Learning involves play-based practice, where the teacher is a facilitator. The program utilizes the teacher as a mediator, and the teacher must be aware of children's play so that learning opportunities can be created based on their interests. They need an environment where they can see their ideas and take chances. One day, children can become problem solvers and innovators. Even if the curriculum people use is always evolving, it reflects our family's, cultural, academic, and community values about developmental expectations and age-relevant learning (Whitman et al., 2022). Facility and Mission Sherwood Park Preschool is a licensed day care facility for children aged 18 months to 5 years. The Sherwood Park family has owned and operated this business in Rockingham and Halifax for over 35 years, providing a safe and supportive educational environment for children of all ages. Sherwood Park offers your 18-month-old to five-year-old full time and part-time programs. You may also enrol your child in our full-time school daycare, but this is only available in limited quantities because there is a limit of 32 licenses each day. Our programs are tailored to a child's developmental age and stage. One class is available for toddlers, the other for preschoolers, and the third for the older children. Learning and Development In an inclusive environment that fosters creativity, children must be allowed to take risks. When children play, they are more likely to become problem solvers.paraphrase
