TAISO Gymnastics

TAISO was founded in 1974 as Sackville Gymnastic Club and operated out of Sackville High. In 1976, TAISO was founded. The Sackville Town Centre gave 2,700 square feet to the organization in 1979. It is now Staples. At the time, there were 250 club members. In 1984, TAISO was given 4,500 square feet in the same shopping center as square footage. The plan in 1988 was to build a bingo hall at the First Lake. TAISO was asked to participate. TAISO is as is today. TAISO's membership has surpassed 1000. TAISO has greatly helped Nova Scotia Women’s Teams succeed at the Atlantics, Easterns, and Nationals over the last 30 years. TAISO is an amateur sports organization that operates with a volunteer board of directors. TAISO believes in all levels of gymnastics. It is for both recreational and competitive gymnasts. For the competitive team, we have female gymnasts only. However, we are proud to offer men's gymnastics at the preschool, school-age, and intermediate/pre-competitive levels. TAISO compensates all instructors for their NCCP and First Aid certifications.
