The YMCA believes that learning to swim is crucial for living. Everyone is qualified for one free swimming lesson at the YMCA Greater Halifax/Dartmouth, regardless of their age. Our strategy is very clear: reduce water-related injury and get more people in the pool to learn how to swim, all while staying safe in the water. As babies 6-18 months old take part alongside children and parents, Splashers offers an exceptional way to get children comfortable in the water. Children this young are starting to learn about their environment and want to get their hands on everything. Splashers are all about getting babies and parents to feel comfortable and play in the water. At the same time, parents help them to move their arms and legs so that they can splash and have some fun.
