⚠️ BUYER BEWARE — MY EXPERIENCE WITH CARRUS AUTO IN BRANTFORD I purchased a Mitsubishi Lancer from Carrus Auto in Brantford that was represented as being safety certified and suitable for the road. My experience after that purchase has been absolutely unacceptable. Within less than two weeks of buying the vehicle, serious problems started appearing. Since purchasing this vehicle, I have had to deal with: • A major breakdown • The belt needing to be replaced twice • Struts requiring replacement • A muffler that was completely detached • A lamp/light that was out • Ongoing loud and concerning noise coming from the front end • Multiple mechanics inspecting the vehicle and raising serious concerns about the condition it was sold in I have been told by multiple mechanics that, based on the condition of this vehicle, they do not believe it should have passed a safety inspection in the condition it was sold to me. What really bothered me was what happened when I realized the extent of the problems and contacted the dealership less than two weeks after the purchase. I told the salesperson that I wanted nothing to do with the vehicle and wanted to return it. The response I received was: “If you want to return the vehicle I promise you sir this is going to go a different way for you.” That statement was completely inappropriate and left me feeling intimidated rather than like a customer who had just spent thousands of dollars on a vehicle that was already experiencing serious mechanical problems. I have attempted to work with Carrus Auto to resolve this situation, including asking about exchanging the vehicle. They have refused to work with me in a meaningful way and have told me they would only give me approximately half of what the vehicle is worth. At this point, I am pursuing this matter through the appropriate consumer and vehicle-safety channels. I am posting this review because other people deserve to know what my experience has been before they spend their hard-earned money here. My advice is simple: DO NOT take a vehicle from this dealership at face value. Get your own independent mechanic to inspect it before you buy it, regardless of what they tell you about the safety or condition. I went into this purchase expecting to receive a safe, roadworthy vehicle. Instead, I have been left dealing with repeated mechanical problems, repair costs, stress and a dealership that, in my experience, has shown very little interest in making things right. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Carrus Auto to anyone.
