Villa Italia Retirement Residence is an initiative of the Charitable Corporation of the Order of the Sons of Italy. This not-for-profit entity was established in February 2003 to support seniors and provide amenities for them. The main source of funds is the active Donors Program, which includes corporate donations and annual pledges. Villa Italia Retirement Residence was created after several years of fundraising efforts by the Hamilton Community to attain its objective (Villa Italia Retirement Residence, n.d.). Villa Italia is situated in Hamilton West Mountain, which was built using generous donations from the Hamilton Community, offering seniors a Mediterranean-inspired lifestyle.
