About Jerome Taylor, The Company's Founder It was back in 1963 when Jerome Taylor arrived in Kingston as a 27-year-old man and became the youngest individual in Canada to own a dealership, all these with no help from the family. A Chrysler dealership needed new leadership, and Jerome had the opportunity to take it over. Though the business had issues, Jerome managed to get it back on track after three months of dedicated hard work and focusing on the Customer (Guest). In 1967, they had to expand their dealership, and they set up another location at 1429 Princess Street, which became Kingston Dodge Chrysler. In the wake of the 2009 event when General Motors was facing a crisis, the company had to downsize and closed numerous dealerships. The Taylor AutoMall was part of the downsizing plan and was selected as Kingston’s exclusive General Motors dealership. The business was also given the GMC and Buick franchises beginning January 1, 2010. The business premises had to be renovated to accommodate the services of two more franchises, Buick and GMC, as the Taylor Auto Mall expanded its reach and services.
