Edge Architects

Edge Architects Ltd. was established by Principal Architects Matthew Bolen, OAA, RAIC and CPHD, and Michael Trussell, BAS, M.ARCH. Mike and Matt met at the University of Waterloo School of Architecture, where they both completed their studies at the Masters and Undergraduate level. In 2015, Mike and Matt combined their efforts to create an organization that focuses on design excellence and innovative collaboration. Edge works with trade partners and has assembled a team dedicated to achieving this vision. The firm has a Certificate of Practice from the Ontario Association of Architects to practice architecture in Ontario as a Corporation. ProDemnity Insurance Company provides professional liability insurance to the firm. Our Commitment Our sustainable approach to architecture is based on respect for and appreciation of the environment. This should be apparent in all areas of our work, from how we sit and orient ourselves to the materials and systems we select. We strive to incorporate sustainable features into our buildings whenever possible, including high-inertia envelopes and low-emission materials, green roofs, and living walls.
