Since 2018, Nitty Gritty Tattoo & Barber Co. has been a fixture in London Ontario Canada. Brock Ryan and Stevie Boy (also known as Steve Gebhardt) opened their first shop in the Old East Village in the fall of 2018. Their stable of artists quickly expanded to include the talented Matthew Leroux, Cortney Foster, and Cortney Foster, units that were bolstered by Hunter Richards' almost one year of experience and the rise of apprentices Shannon Rumble (and Dylan Specht) into the mix. Altogether, the Nitty Gritty team was a force to be reckoned with. Nitty Gritty was expanded to a second spot in 2022, the West 5 location, which arrived with the addition of a barbershop and bar. Jose Interiano and Cormac Elmes, both talented barbers, immediately joined the team. These were revolutionary actions in the tattooing and barbershop industry as a whole. Jeff Thammavongsa was made the shop manager, and with an already creative and driven team, it was and remains a match made in heaven. With a developing team that is hungry, inspired, and focused, Nitty Gritty delivers the most unique tattoos and art pieces the industry has ever seen.
