About this business
The Ontario Addiction Treatment Centres (OATC) London Clinic is proud to have been established in 1995. When OATC was established, opioid agonist therapy using methadone didn't have a well-served ecosystem. They were forced to travel long distances to get care. This inefficient system led to them forming OATC. Today, more than 10,000 individuals in over fifty different communities across Ontario get daily medical treatment. Our staff undertakes to provide the highest standard of care and undertake all possible measures to encourage people to refrain from using illegal drugs in the long run. While abstinence is the aim for some, OATC advocates for harm reduction. This is not a new concept. The idea that drug addiction leads to many risks, such as overdose, other crimes, some forms of embarrassment, and even death and incarceration, sounds true. The idea helps people who are addicted to such substances find therapy that does not feel judgmental, which leads them to live a better life.
We have also been able to treat people addicted to opiates (codeine, heroin, and oxycodone), as well as those addicted to other substances (nicotine.co.uk, cannabis.) In addition to that, treatment has extended to other adverse effects, such as HIV/AIDS. AMazingly, our journey for the last two decades has a lot to brag about, because we have saved several people who would have risked dying if we were not around. Our community support and the many social agencies that have us at heart make OATC the most prosperous enterprise ever.
