Barks n' Rec

Matt was made for this. His high school nickname was “The Dog”, but Matt later changed it to “Le Chien” in his teenage years. It was December 2008 when Matt met Reuben. In December 2008, Reuben and Matt wedded. Matt left his 9-5 job in March 2009 to follow his dreams. That’s when BnR was born. After volunteering for many local shelters for seven months, Matt learned enough to start his own pack (Barks n! Rec, n.d.). Tourism operator Matt also plays at Sears and takes part in St. John’s Ambulance Therapy Dog Program with Reuben. It was really teamwork. Barks N’ Rec opened in December 2009, thanks to family and friends. Jed and Edna have enjoyed a great eight years with some amazing staff and adopted siblings. Matt will always carry the joy he found in dogs.
