Most Catholics are unaware that cremation has been legalized by the Church since 1963. Cremation prevalence has risen in different nations due to numerous causes over time. The rise has contributed to behaviors that need clarification. The Church demands that Catholics should be buried in sacred places or in a traditional manner. If cremation is chosen for legal reasons, the person's ashes should be kept in a holy location. This may be a cemetery or sometimes a church. The Church also believes that ashes should not be scattered in the ocean, on land, or in family members' homes.
