Founded by men who appreciated the sport, Ontario Racquet Club’s history is marked by passion. A group of local men, who love tennis, came together in 1975 to discuss and continue their game, all year. They had children too and realized the need for a tennis club catering to families, in Oakville/Mississauga. This initiative has seen many expansions and growth. After 40 years, ORC can boast of various other sports and amenities. We aim to give the best club experience to our members, 5000+. Our modern equipment, programming and amenities draw them here almost every day. Our club lifestyle promotes optimal health and is way beyond any local competition. We involve families in pool activities and offer 800+ hours annually in aquatic instruction. We also have an ORCA club team that coaches teens and children in competitive swimming. For adults, stroke clinics and water running classes are available. Adults who want to learn how to swim or are recovering from an injury come for stroke clinics and aquatic therapy clinics. Our Adult ORCA group also offers a Master's Swim course, which focuses on training and encouraging an active lifestyle via aquatics.

Overall, the Ottawa Racquet Club (ORC) has received very positive reviews from members. There are consistent mentions of exceptional staff, particularly Kyle and Chloe, as well as family-friendly facilities like swimming and kids programming. Many feel the club program's health and safety regulations during the COVID-19 pandemic were up-to-date and appropriately aggressive. The food and drinks at the club often impress, and the facilities are better managed than most. Frequent communication between the club's staff and members seems to have been instrumental in maintaining an active, positive community throughout the membership period. The pre-pandemic club experience was attractive to households in search of group health and wellness spaces, and many reviewers plan to continue using the space. A resonating observation is that the ORC is a community leisure space and not a workout gym which makes it unique. A common concern, however, is that the ORC membership costs are too high, making it too great a barrier for some people. Overall, the Ottawa Racquet Club receives a positive rating due to the numerous kids and family-friendly features.
