Alison Fowler nee Stevens was born and raised in Ottawa, primarily in rural Manotick. Alison Fowler, nee Stevens, was raised and educated in rural Manotick, a property that borders the Rideau River. It is here where Alison developed a love for nature and gardening, which she uses to inspire her landscapes, still-life pictorials, and flora & fauna. Alison's aptitude for drawing, art, and construction was discovered in high school. These three fields eventually led to a four-year stint with Algonquin College, where she studied Interior Design. Alison Designs was formed by Alison after she graduated with her diploma. She offered interior color consultations and specialty paints to clients. She has moved to Champlain Park after spending 11 1/2 years painting in her Wellington West studio. You can find her there working on large, showy poppy paintings, landscapes with thick textures, and the popular "Wall of Arts ".
