Instead, we use building information modeling (BIM) to help clients visualize their project before construction starts. Principal Architect Michael Peixoto OAA, MRAIC is the founding architect of ARCA-VERDE. Michael has over 20 years of experience in developing and delivering sustainable projects from concept to completion. Everything that he does comes down to two key principles: everything has to be accessible, and everything has to be done with the future in mind. Michael has designed 9 Passive Houses, 5 LEED projects (CI & NC - Certified to Silver), and 2 Net Zero projects when he learned the City of Ottawa’s 2025 Accessibility Program is in development. He completed his thesis “A Blind Experience of Architecture” with the CNIB to critique architecture from the perspective of the blind. Michael has a deep commitment to sustainable architecture because he sees it as the only way to ensure a greener future. Finally, he also teaches in the Algonquin College Green Architecture program and the Architectural Technology program. Michael is LEED Certified, and a Passive House Certified Designer.
