About the Centre for European Studies
The Centre for European Studies is a Carleton University Research Centre and it is jointly operated by the Institute of European, Russian and Eurasian Studies and the Department of Political Science. The activities of the Centre for European Studies are focused on Europe's politics, economy, and history, with an emphasis on the European Union. The Centre for European Studies establishment has a Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence and two Jean Monnet Networks for Transatlantic Trade Politics and EU Canada Relations. It also hosts a Jean Monnet Project "Studying EU In Canadian High Schools", the Canadian Journal of European and Russian Studies and the Canada-European Transatlantic Dialogue. The university offers a great education to its over 24,000 students both at the undergraduate and graduate levels of study. The university has 875 full-time faculty members who are known for their research and scholarship in over 50 fields. Carleton's faculty has significant strengths in journalism, architecture, and international affairs. The multidisciplinary, active and hands-on approach of these faculty and the many partnerships they have with other universities, the federal government and the private sector benefits the students.
