When three well-established legal clinics merged in 2017, Community Legal Services of Ottawa was born. On April 1, three of Ottawa's community clinics became Community Legal Services of Ottawa (CLSO). Our change in name does not affect the Ottawa community's access to justice services. Initially, the amalgamation involved Ottawa's South, West, and East End community legal clinics. To ensure equitable access to legal services for our clients, we have maintained three offices. These include the Parkdale, Carlington, and Overbrook offices, where you can visit us for legal assistance. The Ontario government, through Legal Aid Ontario (LAO), funds our community non-profit legal clinic. This funding allows us to have well-trained staff to handle cases every time. Our staff have the necessary legal qualifications to provide free legal assistance for specific problems that affect individuals with a low income.

Review aggregation: Nearly all consumers highly praise the firm and its employees. Several feel the attorneys are expert, professional, and thoughtful. They say the firm is professional and client-centered, showing empathy and a tireless work ethic. Customers talk about successful outcomes, with one sharing that their circumstances appeared lost until they found the right lawyer. Although the legal aid is beneficial, cost-effectiveness remains an issue for people struggling financially. Yet, most clients state they are happy with the level of service they get. A few had immigration issues and got excellent support. Mentioning a lawyer by name in a positive light is another typical occurrence. Overall, the reviews' most prominent theme is that staff members care about their customers and resolve their concerns to the best of their abilities.
