About this business
Deborah Anne Kirwan Pool Swim Lessons: Swim City, the City of Ottawa's swim lesson program. Track your progressions in a new tab/window. As you learn the joy of swimming, collect stickers and progress through each level. On the first day, select one of four streams based on your age. A swim assessment at a public swimming pool is required to help you determine which level is appropriate for you. The names of the levels in preschool swimming are inspired by the Ottawa River's local wildlife. Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg and the cultural center in Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg First Nation collaborated on the names. The designs were created by Dean Ottawa and Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg First Nation. This connection is intended to inspire respect for the heritage and culture of the Anishinabe Algonquin Nation.
Reviews Summary
This pool has garnered positive impressions for its beauty and cleanliness, beneficial features for young children, and excellent customer service. Many visitors expressed their pleasure with the temperature of the water and the helpfulness of the lifeguards. The sauna and hot tub are bonuses, but some guests believed the water was tepid in these areas. The users enjoyed the children's pool, which allows families to visit the establishment with their offspring. It's suitable for younger children, and it's not the best place for teenagers as per some of the feedback. The water-based events are often entertaining, and learners enjoy the conditions conducive to learning. The swimming complex in the neighbourhood and others is a fun place to learn how to swim as per some of the guests. James, who works there, is considerate and helpful, making the first contact easy. One of the respondents is a frequent visitor who suggested that the pool is a great option for all family outings. The client stated that these are few of the benefits of the venue, and the others did not like the pool because they said nothing. Other reviewers called the pool's proper supervision and lifeguards dangerous. However, this is a good option for pool clubs as per some of the feedback.
I wanted to take a moment to provide some feedback regarding today's seniors' session at the Ottawa city public Deborah Ann Kirwan pool, specifically concerning the behavior of the lifeguards.
Water-based activities, such as the exercises seniors were engaging in, offer a fantastic opportunity for older individuals to enhance their fitness and overall well-being. The buoyancy and resistance provided by the water make these exercises gentle yet effective, aligning with the recommendations of healthcare providers.
However, during today's session from 4 to 5:00 PM, dated March 27, 2024, there were instances where the enforcement of regulations seemed excessive. additionally, the emotional responses from the lifeguards appeared disproportionate to their duty of ensuring safety. This approach had the unintended consequence of interfering with the seniors' ability to participate in their recommended exercises.
As members of the community who value both safety and the well-being of our seniors, it would be greatly appreciated if we could find a more balanced and considerate approach to upholding regulations while still allowing seniors to benefit from their pool sessions as advised by their healthcare providers.
Thank you for considering this feedback, and I look forward to a positive resolution.
Sincerely,
Reza Ektesabi
