Galbraith Family Law Customer Feedback Summary: I retained Galbraith for a family law matter and ultimately terminated the retainer due to concerns with both billing practices and the level of representation. I found myself having to review work closely, identify issues, and ensure financial information and calculations were accurate. In several instances, the work product appeared to rely heavily on information and corrections I had already provided. At times, it felt as though I was doing much of the substantive work myself while still being billed for it. There was also a lack of continuity on my file, with multiple staff changes contributing to repeated file reviews, inefficiencies, and no clear ownership. Despite being represented for several months, the matter saw little meaningful progress. We did not reach the stage of exchanging full financial disclosure, and much of the time appeared to be spent on back-and-forth correspondence rather than advancing the file. The approach felt reactive rather than proactive. After reviewing my account, I identified a duplicate billing and several overlapping administrative charges. The firm did conduct a review and issued a partial refund. However, the reimbursement process was also mishandled. A cheque was sent to the wrong address, my email went unanswered, and I had to follow up by phone to have the issue understood and corrected. Overall, the experience required more oversight and effort on my part than I would expect when retaining legal counsel Had a fantastic consult with Sandra. She gave me great insight into my matter and thought of an angle that I had not considered towards resolution. Very thorough and extremely helpful. Highly recommended.
