History of Ontario Trucking Association Supports and offers public advocacy and service to companies of trucking industries in Ontario, transportation of freight within, outside or into the province. OTA represents every segment within the trucking industry, including private and for-hire drivers as well as suppliers. Every industry in Ontario depends on trucking for the movement of goods from one place to another. An investment in trucking is an investment that will boost all parts of the provincial economy. Ontario Trucking Association Needs Queen's Park to Invest in Strategic Trucking Supply Chain for Job Creation and Supply Chain Sustainability The Ontario Trucking Association (OTA) urges Queen's Park to invest in Ontario's trucking supply chains. By doing so, it will create jobs and ensure the sustainability of the supply chain. The association believes that investing in trucking will protect Ontario's future economic health. "It was clear that Ontario truck drivers were important during the COVID crisis, so the economy. The economy is unable to function without truck drivers," said James Steed, OTA Chair. "OTA is working with the Government of Ontario on a plan to invest in truck drivers, both current and future. This will address the truck driver shortage; improve the working conditions of truck drivers; specializes in our skilled workforce and make roads safer for everyone.
