I came here on June 7 to get the brown spots on my body & eye area removed (the Panda Eye treatment) w/ the Starwalker laser machine & was treated by Thalia. Disappointingly, she did not know what I wanted to get removed despite specifying this when booking my appointment. I was also frustrated that she kept missing spots that she had circled w/ a white eyeliner & I had to point out each spot to her. The level of attention was not there.
Since Thalia ran out of time removing my spots, she said she'll do the rest during my free touch-up. A week later, I told her via email that I didn’t notice any lightening on my eye area. She told me to wait a month to see if there’s a difference as skin cell turnover takes around that length of time. A month later, I shared on the phone w/ her that I didn't notice any lightening. She said she will do a free touch-up for me. This was very misleading as she didn’t specify that it was just for the one bigger spot on my left eye UNTIL I was at my appointment (on July 11) despite me pointing out to her on the phone that she missed the brown spots on my lower right eye area & none of my brown spots got any lighter (even though they are light & should be fairly easy to remove). She showed me the before & after photos & claimed that there was a difference but I had to tell her, “I don’t see any visible differences”.
I’ve had my brown spots on my face & eye area removed at skin centres before & it required only one treatment w/ a Picosure machine. Thalia said that the Starwalker is similar to Picosure but I don’t see the resemblance. I was not happy paying over $310 for just the eye treatment & not seeing results. Not to mention that the spots Thalia was supposed to go over didn’t get treated. I have very light spots. They shouldn’t require multiple sessions & having to make clients pay more as one session itself (for just the eye area) isn’t cheap.
During the complimentary touch-up, I also noticed yet again that Thalia lacked attention to detail & missed brown spots on my legs during the touch-up of my body treatment. Good thing I had planned ahead & circled the spots that I wanted removed w/ a white eyeliner as well as prepared a list of spots that needed to be removed before the session as she would have missed even more spots yet again. Not only that, I found her verbal & written communication to be extremely fake.
As I found Thalia to lack attention to detail, I requested for Anna to remove my cherry angiomas on the same day I had the touch-up w/ Thalia. Anna was much more thorough w/ the removal of my cherry angioma which I appreciated. That said, I realized that she missed spots on my arms that I had circled w/ a white eyeliner & had pointed out to her. Since I was not happy w/ Thalia’s service, I asked for a free touch-up of the brown spots on my eye area that she didn’t do. I also called the office to see if I can get a free touch-up of the cherry angioma on the parts that didn’t get removed (despite me pointing them out to & circling them for Anna). I was supposed to get a call from management about this situation but disappointingly, not only did Sovereign fail to directly address my concerns but it was Thalia (who is going to be biassed about her own service) who did that & sent me an absurdly defensive & condescending email.
In her email dramatically titled “Important Notice: Conclusion of Our Client Relationship”, Thalia informed me that my relationship w/ Sovereign has been terminated & that I am no longer allowed to book future services w/ them. Never has this happened to me & it is not up to her to decide whether I want to use their services. Thalia also falsely accused me of being “consistently dishonest, rude, & abrasive”. At no point in our interactions was I this way to her; I was very nice to her. She was trying to make herself seem like Mother Teresa to make me look like the villain. I paid over $1000 for the treatments in return for subpar service! Instead of addressing my concerns & apologizing, Thalia dismissed everything I brought up. Her communication is very manipulative, painting herself as the victim. For anyone wanting to get laser treatments done, stay far away from Thalia & Sovereign. I am warning you now.
I would recommend this Sovereign Skin. The office looks like something out of Star Trek - very modern, clean, and professional. There was a nice welcome person as I entered the reception. I had two treatments done, and the staff was exceptionally polite and professional - it seems to be a Canadian trait. A big shout out to Thalia, the technician, and my favorite person there was nurse Serena, who I wanted to make my new BFF. But at the end of the day, it comes down to whether the procedure worked, and I'm pleased to report 100%.
