Art Windsor-Essex is dedicated to supporting and promoting Canadian visual art in Windsor-Detroit, one of North America's most active international border communities. It was founded in 1943 and is located in a prime downtown area by the river, with a view of the Detroit River. The Gallery is renowned for its innovative contemporary art program and Canadian art collection, which consists of almost 4,000 works. Art Windsor-Essex has won 20 awards since 2013, including the Best of Windsor Award for Best Public Art Gallery and Public Art Space.
