Forming its operations, the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean community legal center was created by the Commission des services juridiques in 1973. The Center's legal aid lawyers are notified under this law to indulge in low-cost legal support. The Act concerning legal aid to the needy suggests legal aid to all Saguenay residents. The center helps Lac-Saint-Jean territory residents require authorized support under this Act.
Employing 16 lawyers and 22 support staff, the Center operates in six offices: Chicoutimi (city of Saguenay), Jonquiere (city of Saguenay), La Baie (city of Saguenay), Alma, Roberval, and Dolbeau-Mistassini. Our mission is to ensure access to justice for financially eligible persons residing in the territories of Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, by providing services to assert their rights, free of charge or with contribution, to the extent provided by the Legal Aid Act and the provision of certain other legal services. Our lawyers work 24 hours per day, all year, in the event you have been accused of any criminal offense, or you are about to be.
