I was charged with a crime that I absolutely did not commit and hired M. Zalman Haouzi. No matter how weak the evidence was, the Crown prosecutor still moved forward. Although he made me an offer for conditional absolution, I rejected it because I would not admit to anything I did not do. It followed months of stress and anxiety. M. Haouzi is a compassionate man and when I needed someone to go to war for me, I was grateful and lucky to have him at my side. Even though I knew I was innocent, my fear was that much worse because a judge would decide my fate and I could have ended up convicted. M. Haouzi worked unbelievably hard, was accessible, and was in contact with me at all hours. After a facilitation meeting (great strategy from M. Haouzi), the judge clearly agreed with M. Haouzi’s position. Subsequently I was acquitted of all the charges. If not for M. Haouzi fighting for me, if not for M. Haouzi being such a great lawyer, I could likely be convicted for a crime I did not commit. M. Haouzi is not only a great lawyer, but he is also a great man. During our meetings we discussed many other problems in my life, many of them not related to our case. He always had good advice to give to me. M. Haouzi will always be one of my best friends. Thank you so much for all you did for me. My door will always be open to you. And not to forget, thank you also to M. Michael Aareneau, M.
