En Vogue Photography

I am Whitney and I photograph people, primarily families and couples, in the West Kootenays, particularly in this small mountain village called New Denver BC. This shoot was my first work in the village that I call a place I wish I could have my first marriage. I was working in Saskatchewan before I couldn't continue to photograph weddings every weekend because I missed being able to capture the people in this diverse landscape and light in the mountains. What a great feeling when I was given this wonderful opportunity to document Devin and Kelsey's sweet engagement in the forest near New Denver, British Columbia. This was the most pleasant autumn day when I got the honor of moving through the leaves and branches with them and chatting while taking their photos. Their family members are just as sweet (you can all see that in the photos). Devin and Kelsey are getting married in Castlegar BC this spring, and we are looking forward to joining them there. Hello! My name is Whitney and together with my husband Dylan, we are wedding and portrait photographers based in New Denver BC, Canada. We have been at this since 2008 and love that we have the opportunity to do the things that we love to do. However, we really do not like to think of it as doing a job that we love. We simply capture the big and little moments in life which is an incredible thing to be able to do, and this is why our clients are so important to us. Even though this wonderful thing has happened to us as a result of our hard work, experience, grit, and talent, we always strive to ensure that every picture we take is authentic to our clients. We take time to read, answer, ask, and understand our clients and make them friends before their wedding or portrait shoot. Our style is lighthearted, journalistic, and minimal. I am Whitney and as a self-trained photographer, I have been photographing full time since I graduated from college in 2007. I grew up in Bellingham, WA (a medium-seized town 1.5 hours north of Seattle). My husband (Dylan) and I have worked together since 2008 capturing over 200 weddings and just as many portrait and family and corporate photography shoots together, both in the United States and abroad.
