Pro Print was founded in 1927 by T. Gerald Webb as Webb Direct Mailing. It was Saskatoon's first printing company, offering services like Multigraphing, Mimeographing Form Letters, Mailing Addressing, and Posting. Webb Direct Mailing was initially based on the fourth floor of Birks Building, at the corner of 21st Street and 3rd Avenue. Until 2011, the company would spend its first 81 years locating at various positions around the city. Webb Direct Mailing would first move to the Canada Building, then the Cobbold Block at 2nd Ave., and Marigold Cafe at 3rd Ave. Webb Direct Mailing would eventually settle in the Avenue Building on 3rd Avenue before the building’s demolition. The early years at Webb Direct Mailing and its relocations created the company’s culture of embracing change and growth. The company’s name was frequently changed between 1927 and 2011. Webb Direct Mailing was later known as Winterton Direct Mail Service, and then Early Mailing Service. In 2009, Pro Print, a print company, was bought by Early Mailing Service. The two companies merged, but the name Pro Print was preserved to reflect its history and values.
