ABOUT   Services Excellence Summary

Cook Taylor Woodhouse Solicitors is not recommended. They were rude, unhelpful, and dismissive, and their overall attitude was that the contact would be preferable if the whole issue got ignored. Try a different solicitors firm. 2. Excellent experience when buying a house with no chain. The transaction was done quickly and efficiently by Jessica Murphy and Aastha Paul. They were supportive and professional throughout and made the whole process less stressful and simple. I can't recommend their services enough for all property transactions. 3. Very professional, very knowledgeable and very helpful4. 100% advise you to avoid this firm. Many, many reasons, but proceed at your peril5. Friendly reception team on phone6. After I told them that the old occupants had left a lot of nail holes in the walls and ceilings throughout the whole of the property, and that when the removal of their furniture caused damage to the ceilings, walls, and bathroom indeed, throughout the property, they did not even bother to ask. Be very careful and make sure to check everything multiple times before moving, they will not protect or support you afterwards. 7. We want to thank Kirsty and Amreet at Cook Taylor Woodhouse (Dartford Branch) for helping us with our sale and purchase. Even though they have so many cases to deal with, they made us feel that we were important to them. In the last few weeks where there were some queries pending for some time, they managed to get us over the line by the agreed moving date. THANK YOU8. Inexperienced staff, completely unresponsive, nobody ever picks up the phone. I would advise avoiding this firm like the plague !!! Pick someone else. They are useless9. Very poor experience, not clear not transparent and add on fees which we were not told and had we been told we would not have instructed them. Have wasted money of ours and we are now having to bring the instruction to an end. Avoid. We instructed a local solictor half the cost and super efficient. Unlike these people.10. Unfortunately had to pull out of the purchase of a retirement property due to my dad's declining health. Eve from CTW then starts demanding payment for work they say was completed but can provide no evidence. When I started to question these charges and ask for evidence, instead of the evidence being provided I was threated with debt collection agencies instead. Ill rate one star for now, hopefully my experience improves and I can change it to a better rating.11. I used Alexandra to complete my transfer of equity, she was amazing, kept us informed through out and the process was quick and easy! Would recommend!!12. We had a great experience with Cook Taylor Woodhouse, who helped progress our property purchase smoothly from start to finish. The team kept us well informed with regular updates, responded quickly to any questions we had, and made the whole process feel simple and stress-free. Our completion was achieved in around 2–3 months, which we were really pleased with. Andrew was our initial point of contact and was professional, efficient, and quick to resolve any questions or queries with the selling firm. We were then passed on to Harvey, who completed the purchase and continued the same high level of service. He was efficient, clear, and kept us well informed throughout the final stages. We would happily recommend Cook Taylor Woodhouse to anyone looking for a reliable and professional conveyancing company.13. I want to thank Andrew and especially Harvey at Cook Taylor Woodhouse Solicitors for all their hard work handling the legal side of my recent move. They did an excellent job of getting every document sent over as soon as it was ready, and nothing was left outstanding when it came to moving day, which is more than I can say for the other solicitors in the chain. Both Andrew and Harvey replied quickly over email, but Harvey was always there to pick up the phone whenever I needed to speak to someone directly. He was polite, reassuring and patient with every query and concern I had throughout the process. He is a real credit to the team. I highly recommend Cook Taylor Woodhouse for anyone needing support with their next move.14. I wouldn't have thought a solicitor firm could be like this. I found them lacking in morals and empathy. After being unhappy with the way Abby Smith was dealing with my sale, I made a complaint to her supervisor, Zara Wilkins. Rather than apologising, her response was to suggest that I move to a different firm. Later, when I had just suffered a bereavement and needed to go to the funeral etc. and urgently needed an estimate of when my sale would exchange, I asked for help again and received an email which I found rude. After the sale had been going on for around five months, I contacted Sally Jezard, the head of conveyancing, and she didn't get back to me. The buyer's solicitor was being extremely slow, taking weeks to make small decisions, and I wanted Mrs Jezard to contact someone senior at her firm. I am a solicitor myself and I know that it is common practice for a partner or head of department to step in when a client is being prejudiced. It was made clear that I just had to work with Abby Smith no matter how difficult I found this, and that noone senior would help. During the sale, I didn't dare to make a complaint or ask if I could work with someone else, as I saw some reviews which said that they get vindictive if you complain about them. I was supposed to be doing a purchase with them as well, but as work on that was less advanced I asked, during the sale, how much it would cost if I cancelled that. I was told £318 including VAT. After the sale finished, I made a complaint, and said that I wanted to cancel the purchase, and they sent me a bill around 300% higher than the earlier bill. Luckily, I had kept the email which stated that I would be charged £318, but if I hadn't, they could have tried to force me to pay the higher amount. I have reported them to the Solicitors Regulatory Authority15. We used CTW for both sale and purchase of our property and they provided a professional and efficient service and I would most definitely recommend them. Thank you Elizabeth.
