Customer feedback summary: Visited Taylor & Emmet's Sheffield South West office today to ask their solicitor to witness the signing of a lease for me. The receptionist put me through to the solicitor and I was on hold for about 10 minutes. It would have taken less than 10 minutes to sign and witness the document and this is even a PAID service. So I do not consider it a great beginning when I was told that they “just didn’t have the capacity” to do this, sitting in the biggest, shiniest office on Ecclesall Road and cannot sign a document!!!2. We had a very decent experience as FTB with Taylor Emmet. They were very fast with searches, and enquiries, etc., and it only took us about 10 weeks from appointment to completion. This is due to them trying to be as quick as possible really, and it was quite nice because it was chain-free. There was a small issue with the transfer of funds for exchange that irked me and caused some stress. We were waiting and had no idea that we were waiting to be told to transfer funds (as all of the letters from TE said to wait), and only when we got a bit nervous thinking we are due to exchange soon and haven't sent any money over, that my husband rang up and found out that they were waiting for us to send the funds over so we could exchange! This did lead to a bit of stress on our end, and I do suspect that this happened moreso because we were chain-free so the exchange and completion dates were a bit more flexible. Ultimately though I've heard many worse horror stories of solicitors, so think this isn't too bad!3. My experience with Taylor & Emmet was a pleasure right from the first to the last day. Although the most expensive of 3 quotes I had sought out in Sheffield, Taylor & Emmet were worth every single penny. They are proactive, comprehensively thorough and have your best interests in mind every step of the way. Sally Winter especially was incredibly helpful, providing clear and concise answers in layman's terms for every single question we had. She helped make the entire process seamless and was always available for questions. They may be slightly more expensive, but they are definitely worth it. I will most certainly be using Sally Winter and Taylor & Emmet again for buying a future property.4. We have used this firm for many years and have always had a good service5. My co-executor & I chose Taylor Emmet to manage the estate of my late brother. This was an extremely difficult time and really a very complicated estate, with a host of different issues that we needed to deal with. Thankfully we had Gaby Mather as our solicitor at Taylor Emmet. In what was a desperate and very testing time Gaby was always prompt and accessible and could easily find out who we need to talk to or engage with for the different issues. She managed to coordinate us using a couple of different departments at Taylor Emmet to get through this trying time, and took away additional stress. All the while she was extremely compassionate and took time to ensure my brothers mums (my co-executor) needs were catered for throughout. This was invaluable to us. I would recommend this branch of Taylor Emmet and especially Gaby - I hope they appreciate her as much as we did as clients.Paraphrased Feedback
