Stephensons Solicitors LLP Review Summary 1 star: Horrible Worst solicitors ever, lost an obvious case these people are useless waste of time 5 stars: Excellent It was please being represented by Stephensons Solicitors LLP. They put my best interest priority, offered great advice, efficient communication and eventually we recieved a great result. Thank you very much to Joanne Ribchester and the team at Stephensons 3 stars: Average Mixed feelings about this place, I contacted them to represent me in court. I thought they were doing this but later learnt a DBA did not include tribunal representation and at this point was bound by a contract with them. Fees were high. They did not help me with a schedule of loss for tribuanl before they opened negotiations with the respondent. Later on, once I discovered what my schedule of losses were, I noticed that their opening offer to the respondent was rather low. We got the agreement before court so I feel a little hard done by financially due to all of this. I advise anybody who falls into this trap to do some research first before entering into an agreement with Stephensons. That said, Rohan and Stephen (the latter I didn't deal with much) were great in doing their job, as stated we got a pay out. They were quite easy to get hold of and answer any questions that I had. During negotiations, they were going to counter offer with a lower amount but after I researched a little and developed a SOL I advised them against their suggested counter offer and they agreed to counter with what I asked and thus we got what I asked for, I just wish I had done research and a schedule of losses earlier on as we probably would have got more than what we did. I would like to say I would probably use them in future if needed but their fees would probably put me off. I wish them all the best and thank them for their work! Had gone to a company called wym legal but they ended up taking on my case and the other cases that wym legal had too, that was not my agreement but what can I do wait 6 months for a complaint to be sorted. They were just as slow as wym legal. Took months over doing anything and when I asked for an update, they just replied with a political answer that doesn't help at all. ***update*** I've now had a reply from the complaints email address saying they take up to 8 weeks to respond to a complaint!! I was diagnosed with MS In December last year and my employer dismissed me on competency grounds in a very sketchy way. They've tried to force me into a tiny settlement and there are numerous disability discrimination features involved. I called these guys who were at first not fully grasping the issue and then simply unwilling to help. They would not offer me representation on a no win no fee basis and instead wanted to hold me to exorbitant fees, including for merely looking at the settlement agreement. I started afresh, to give them a chance to reappraisal the case and their approach. But they merely repeated the same information. They are filtering cases on a basis of how much they can make from it. I'd say that these people would be a very poor choice for anyone struggling with a disability discrimination issue. I have since found a solicitor, who is now helping me negotiate a much more suitable settlement and supporting me with the discrimination features of the case. Not only did they deal with all of the documentation in a very efficient way - and informed us by the phone when documents requiring our signature were due, they prompt responses, friendly manner and guidance were also much appreciated. Do not waste your time going to them. I contacted one of their solicitor Eloise Stirrup about my case with documents to know if that would be something they do. She told me to go through CLA to get advice before coming to them which I did. I went through CLA and they told me to go back to them and they will help me out. I went back to Stephensons then they told me they will not deal with it after they received the funding. Very useless and disrespectful, now I can’t use the service as I waisted my credit with them.
