However, when I called back for the quote, a lady answered and said: “we don't work for companies.” What? “We don't work for companies, what? But you work for companies that buy property”. I asked, “is it just that you don't work for my company?”. Is that in case they want to give you more business? Alison then decided didn't want to do the conveyance. A conveyancing solicitor turned down conveyancing work. I know the laws are different in Scotland, but that's a new one on me.2.
