Alaska Family Dermatology

Alaska Family Dermatology is a privately-owned dermatology practice specializing in pediatric and general dermatology. Patient visits should focus on competent, compassionate, and individualized care rather than volume. Its employees are treated as family, and their welfare is always the top priority. It has been operational since 2019. Dr. Brown is board certified as a dermatologist since 1998. She is the only pediatric dermatologist board-certified in Alaska. She is a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Medicine, where she also completed her residency in dermatology. Dr. Brown received her specialty training in pediatrics at The University of Colorado. Her pediatric dermatology fellowship was completed at Oregon Health & Science University. She has also worked as a Pediatrician in Lesotho and was honored with a grant for international residency to practice dermatology and observe clinics in Guatemala. She co-founded Ride for World Health charity events, where medical students bike around the U.S. to advocate for better quality healthcare. Dr. Brown has been in Anchorage for nearly ten years. She fell in love with Alaska. Like other developing countries she has resided in, she sees it as a place where she can outreach to underserved populations. She has two young daughters Madeline (9) and Katherine (7). She frequently skis with her family in the winter and enjoys hiking with them at Chugach State Park during the summer. Her spouse is a horticulturist, and they both love gardening.
