Dr. Skinner, a fifth-generation Arizonan descendant, was born in Mesa. He graduated from Mesa's Mountain View High School. He received a Bachelor of Business Management from Brigham Young University. Dr. Skinner discovered dermatologic surgery at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson. Many medical organizations benefited from his leadership as a volunteer during his medical school. After a year-long internship at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center, he undertook three years of dermatology training at the University of Missouri. He was also the Chief Resident in his final year. His research has been presented at many national and local conferences. Mohs Surgery for Rare Skin Cancers is one of his published research. He has also written a chapter about dermabrasion. Christopher Harmon, one of the country's best Mohs Surgeons, is in Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. Skinner performed over 10,000 skin cancer surgeries after completing his rigorous training in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatology with Dr. Harmon. Dr. Skinner also has received training in Mohs Surgery and the removal of skin cancers. When Dr. Skinner is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife Marie and six children. He claims to have a passion for sports and enjoys playing and watching them. Dr. Skinner currently serves as the president of the Phoenix Dermatology Society and is on the board directors of the Arizona Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery Society. Moreover, his commitment to his local church is evident in his humanitarian work. Tumors grow uncontrollably and at unpredictable rates, and the word cancer produces fear and anxiety. All cancers, however, are unique, and there are three common kinds of skin carcinoma: Basal cell cancer, Squamous-cell carcinoma, and Melanoma. Basal cell carcinoma is by far the most common type of skin tumor.
