Life is art at Obliq Art; art is life. A difficult statement to fully articulate, but this is how my work relates to everything. My work reflects thoughts surrounding spirituality, philosophy, and theology. Stephen Pressfield's statement that the artist's real medium is their thoughts comes in handy here. My imagination is where the art is born. The rhythms of nature give a sense of the sacred. Light, in particular, exposes this sacred feeling. The work involves the recording of ambient light and its storage in forbidden energy (or excited) light. Forbidden light is produced with rare-earth mineral. Light never forgets the darkness. In simple terms, Light needs Dark. My medium is light – my bioluminescent colors and lights are just claimed. The sculptural elements stand out when placed in dark rooms due to the light effects and color. They even illuminate the darkness. The sculpture on the walls is where I concentrate my most effort, not forgetting my photography. Art and science work together to characterize and capture the light and color produced by the sculptures. Also, the light waves on the sculptures' surfaces can be seen with a laser pen that emits white light.
