Although the caregivers are kind and seem to love the residents, the turnover here with caregivers is high!!! The general management, not the owner, is horrible, I have heard them yelling, cursing, and being generally unkind to their employees, often threatening them with firing them because they are spending too much time with a single resident. Many of the residents are wheelchair bound and have little ability for self-care, yet the lady in charge, Kate, yells at everyone to get them up and moving. To say this is a hostile work environment is a huge understatement... the employees walk on eggshells constantly. For many of the workers this is their livlihood and they choose to take care of these residents, but no wonder they leave in flocks all because of managment.
STAY AWAY from this place! I realize this place has beaming reviews on here but these were all before they changed the management this spring (2022). Now, this place is nothing but trouble. My dad is in his late stages of Alzhimer’s and he was attacked by a caregiver at the Maryland location. They called the police on him saying he was aggressive and the caregiver “handled it” by beating him up. They called the police on my dad, their resident with Alzhimer’s, and they took him to a psychiatric ward without letting us know until he was already there! Psych ward saw nothing out of the ordinary for someone with late stage uk and released him. When we picked up my dad he had a ripped shirt, blood on him and scratches from the caregiver at Paradise Living Centers. Not only that, his urine tested positive for fentanyl after only being at this care home!!! They are not trained at all and do not know how to deal with Alzhimer’s or humans in general. red flags when the manager kept calling Alzhimer’s “old timers”. All the other locations are just as bad and they all breathe lies as they are “managed” by the same people. There is so much to write about all the horrible things that keep coming out of this cesspool of filth. Don’t let the fancy exterior fool you, keep your loved ones out of here and if you read this and you have a loved one in there, get them out asap!
