In 2009, the State Bar of Arizona gave her a “Legal Aid Attorney of the Year” award. Rachel has lived, worked, or studied abroad many times. She is fluent in Spanish and Russian. She has a Ph.D. and a law degree from the University of Arizona. She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Rachel has lived in Tucson, Arizona for over thirty years. In 2016, she was awarded a Fulbright grant to teach and research human migration in Belgorod, Russia.
