Hoehn Honda is a successful automotive business that was founded in the 1920s by the Hoehn family. Hoehn received a Chevrolet franchise in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1947. His father granted the retail operation to his eldest child. In 1950, Hoehn Jr. retired and allowed his son to oversee the firm. Despite good sales, the entire car business was changing, and T.W. Hoehn Jr. wanted to get out at the top. He sold all the dealerships in 1970 and relocated to La Jolla. He became involved with Brooking Oldsmobile-Honda-Mercedes in Car Country Carlsbad in 1975 after Bob Graham, his best friend and business partner, offered to sell the business. T.W.H.`s timing was fortunate. North County was experiencing rapid economic growth, and Mercedes-Benz and Honda were two of the hottest products in the United States at the time. The dealership was one of the first in the country to have all three brands in one location.
