Over the past five decades, I have been practicing law as a criminal defense attorney. When I interact with individuals or their loved ones in prison who are in trouble, I feel refreshed and committed to protecting and helping them. I was born in Milwaukee and lived there until I was eight years old. I attended high school in San Mateo, California, and returned to Ohio with my family. I studied law at the University of California, Hastings College of Law, after moving to San Francisco. I started practicing law in 1968 after graduating in 1967. I worked as an assistant Alameda county public defender between 1968 and 1979. I defended more than 100 jury trials in state and federal courts over the years. Twenty of those were acquitted. Many cases involving sexual assault and other serious crimes were also won. I have also recently won many motions for dismissal, suppression of evidence, murder apps, and successfully terminated sex registry. I have successfully defended more than 100 jury trials, including numerous serious felony allegations, and have successfully terminated sex registry in more than 1,000 hearings.
