Kent graduated from UCI, receiving a B.A. with honors in Economics and Political Science. He pursued his law degree at Western State University, College of Law, in which he graduated with honors in 1992 and passed the California State Bar Examination. While in law school, Jeffrey was employed as both a law clerk for the Orange County Public Defender and as a certified prosecution intern for the Orange County District Attorney's Office. He went on to work with the Public Defender in Orange County. Mr. Kent has been successful in the California Supreme Court, where he has argued for his clients. The California State Bar Board of Legal Specialization has recognized Mr. Kent as a Certified Specialist in Criminal Law. Mr. Kent has worked with several politicians, local, and national law enforcement officers, and lawyers. Mr. Kent has been featured on local and national news outlets for his work as a criminal defense attorney. As a criminal defense attorney, he had the opportunity to visit the White House to discuss criminal law reform. This visit was exciting, it was an opportunity to meet with the leading legal experts across the country to gaze upon the process of enacting laws as a defense attorney. Mr. Kent has received a plethora of awards and recognition for his exemplary courtroom work as a defense attorney. This includes an AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell, being a member of the NACDL, CACJ, and co-founding the North Orange County Bar Association_BATCH
