Unfortunately, they're not interested in working with tenants in Los Angeles or the IE, even if clients are prepared to pre-pay and have an evidence binder. Very arbitrary and unhelpful. As a tenant dealing with major fraud and habitability issues with a well-organized binder, a decision to close the door without any meaningful evaluation...raised barriers to access to meaningful legal representation for tenants. If you dislike law firms that are great initially and fade away, please keep this in mind. My world was turned upside down by a sewer roach infestation in my last apartment. The filthy landlord had ruined my clothes, towels, and just about everything. I was forced to run away without getting the bulk of my things in favor of saving myself and my animals. At various points in the case, it always felt dismissive and restrictive. Despite the fact that I made a significant effort to prepay my case, they still did not evaluate the merits of the case or provide meaningful guidance.
