ABOUT   Services Excellence Summary

United Truck Driving School has a range of CDL classes available in Riverside, such as class A CDL and class B CDL. The truck driving school's Riverside course gives the best CDL instruction accessible. Students first take their CDL training on a controlled driving range and training yard, where they can improve their low-speed control and backing abilities. Students then go to the road training section, where they learn how to drive a commercial truck safely and defensively. Riverside's United School location is close to West Coast terminals for many of the most extensive trucking companies in the United States.

SUMMARY   Reviews Summary

Generally, the school's reviews are positive. They mention its accreditation and supportive instructors who provide enough learning time. It is an efficient option for fulfilling the dream of driving a truck through the acres of the US. The instructors varied, yet they all had different methodologies, with some being authoritative, and some relatable and understanding. It was found that a supportive learning environment where the student feels at ease to learn. The former and current students have frequently referred to it as a no-nonsense school for student drivers. They have been heard to comment on the professionalism and experience of the United instructors. Additionally, the teachers' patience and inclusivity type are something to embrace, making the school a recommendable choice. United Driving School's yard training was intense, with only one opt-out of failing prime commercial driving test. There are examples of defensive behaviors from the instructors and impatience, including Wayne's and Jody's screaming from a distance at Jordon on numerous occasions in the presence of many other students. The company wants to enhance its training and examination process. That is why the students respected the instructors, some of whom have left the institution. There is also the benefit of having all the time you need to learn, as long as you attend all of the four-week course's goals. More time is important, especially when learning how to operate a vehicle that you have never driven in your entire life, as some students claim. That takes much care, hence the need for patience and skill to operate a vehicle in the reverse and forward. It seems that behind the wheel, a daily operation could be hard for people who have not had enough time to be behind the wheel. That is where the school seems to be doing better than the rest as they do not rush any student through driving without first allowing the student to learn at their own pace.

I was a student here from November to December 2023. And if you don't know anything about trucking or have never been in a semi-truck for that matter, DO NOT under any circumstances whatsoever come to this "school" (if they still call themselves that). I truly wouldn't even recommend this place to my worst enemy. I did not earn my CDL from here and trust me it wasn’t from a lack of trying, but because I was not ready to do my DMV driving test after entrusting this school to train me properly. I really only got my CDL because of myself and ultimately going to a different school and messing around with the trucks trying to get it right because I didn't get taught a thing at United, but if you pass with your CDL from here they'll definitely take the credit for all the work the student did, but if not they’ll just toss you and pocket your money. United if anything deals more in quantity rather than quality in the sense that everything was so rushed moving you from one “skills phase” to the next rather than truly caring if the student understood the concept or not. The first 2 weeks is getting talked at and watching antiquated videos that have NOTHING TO DO with what you’ll be tested on at the DMV. After my last class I needed to wait up to over a month to take my CDL driving test even though I wasn't ready either. They still pushed me to take it and the result at the end was predictable which shows how ethical they are. And let me just give you the spoiler from here, they won't train you well at all on the yard either. As the training yard conditions were always in a state of disarray. Quality time with instructors and equipment was always limited and stretched thin, with stress being at a all time high for the students involved as nobody really took charge to organize anything. You’ll be the only one training you at the end of the day. As the majority of your 'support network' here are just here 'United' to extract the money from your pockets whether you pass or fail to get your CDL or not, they got paid in full already, so what else is to be expected. Take a hard long look at some of the critical reviews; the majority here is actually based on unembellished fact. But it is your money at the end of the day so choose wisely as 7k+ is no laughing matter. If you are serious about looking for a serious trucking school because you are serious about earning your CDL check out AGT Trucking School across town (pictured below). In the end I too, ended up having to get my CDL - A (unrestricted) from a different school as well and wished I didn’t start out at this school because I had to almost start from scratch at a different trucking school and in only a few QUALITY weeks with caring instructors I got my CDL AFTER I unlearned ALL the horrible habits taught here at United and I learn the hard way as well about there being good schools that truly care about their students and ones that shouldn't even exist in the first place. All in all, I have more terrible experiences I can easily cite from this nightmare experience(but there's a character limit). But overall it was a complete waste of time, energy, and resources which I'll never get back. Everyday at United felt like I was working against myself. I came there to honestly learn not to fail. I found another school which I should have done A LOT SOONER. And finally the last correspondence I had received having to do with United quite literally was the DMV of all entities informing me that United was still using my personal information to sign other students up for their DMV exam appointments. So to me this school does not care about its students, just cares about getting paid and how many students they can throw at the DMV just to see what sticks. Also what good are those "fancy accreditations" that you hide behind, if students aren't suceeding?
