About this business

Idle Hand has been Holly Ellis's establishment since 2007. We have been an anchor in Lower Haight for more than a decade. Our custom artists are bred in a city with a rich and diverse heritage, and we embrace that at the shop. We advocate for traditional tattooing techniques in SF and seek to evolve our understanding of the construct by making unique versions of classics. This prompts creativity from our customers.

Reviews Summary

Reviews are extremely positive: most customers have great things to say about both the shop's environment and the tattoo artists themselves. This feedback also includes how well the shop operates. The top two are my personal typings too, which is like some telepathy shit lmao.... Steffan and Ross's names appear continuously. People love Stefani and Ross's capabilities including their inking style and how they help customers feel relaxed and respected when they go in anxious. Perfect for persons getting these permanently in their bodies. These two artists are highly recommended by almost every client, showing that most people who go to the shop have really positive experiences with these two. The shop is a sweet spot to get tattoos people believe in and love these positive experiences, like the fantastic art and great attitudes of the workers. The general vibe you get when you go in backs this up. The tattoo shop is also spotless and well-managed, which is always a plus. Fast service, professional, and the staff are nice people who help maintain great brainstorming of ideas and come to that conclusion together. This place seems like it treats artists well. For sure, they let them spread their wings and make plans for their work. This allows for a fantastic range of art for customers to choose from. This report on the shop's overall quality is positive and energetic, and it is one of the best and most highly recommended in the San Francisco area and beyond.
